LAST DAY OF TEACHING FOR 2019!

LAST DAY OF TEACHING DONE AND DUSTED!!! It’s been a massive year and I am so proud of all my students and their achievements. I am incredibly privileged to be involved in so many young people’s lives and thankful I get to share my love for music with so many (although some days call for an extra glass of wine 🍷🤪). Now for some #r&r 🧖🏻‍♀️💆🏻‍♀️#musicalmum out. #teacherslife #spoilt #seeyouin2020#passthebottleplease 🍾 #endofyearspoils

4th Annual Musical Garden Party

See this face?! This is my #proudmotherhen x #pleasehandmeaglassofwine #mybrainismush face 🤪 The 4th Annual Musical Garden Party is now officially done and dusted! So very proud of my kiddos and their performances. A massive thanks to all the mums, dads, aunts, uncles, grandmas, grandpas, brothers and sisters who clapped and cheered with great enthusiasm in our audience today. Without you there’d be no support and no concert.
And to my students, wow! You all amaze me! Your curiosity and passion for music fuel me. Never lose your thirst for knowledge and keep aiming for the stars 🎵🎶🎵🎶 #untilnextyear #amusicalgardenparty#endofyearconcert #teacherslife #nowforaglassofwine

Happy 3rd Annual Musical Garden Party!

Woohoo! 3rd Annual Musical Garden party is done and dusted! What an incredible year of music making! I’m blown away by these kids; their love for singing and music, their curiosity and thirst for knowledge and their unrelenting drive to find their place in the world. I am so proud of each and every one of these kids and feel incredibly privileged to be called their teacher. I can’t wait to see what 2019 has install for them all – onwards and upwards!

Remember these faces; you’re looking at tomorrow’s music industry here =) (side note: musical talent does not equate to knowing which direction the picture will be taken from #wherewerewealllooking =p hahahaha) A massive thank you to all who came out in support of these young budding musicians! #nowforaglassofwine

Congrats to Domenica and Michael!

I just wanted to congratulate Domenica and Michael, who despite hiccups and dramas (it’s not a wedding unless there’s drama) got married today! HURRAY!!! So many thanks need to said to you both – thank you for letting me share your special day, thank you for requesting an original for me to sing and share, and thank you for also requesting an awesome power ballad for your registry song. So many goals were kicked today! =p Let’s face it, it’s not every day I get to indulge and sing an original at someone else’s wedding and it’s not every day I get to belt out some Celine Dion, so thank you thank you thank you!!!

Wishing you both all the happiness in the world as you start this crazy journey we call marriage =)

Solo Gig at Frenchies Bistro & Brewery

On the weekend, I had the great privilege of playing a solo gig at Frenchies Bistro & Brewery which is located inside the Cannery in Rosebery. Frenchies is a newish little establishment, who brew their own craft beers, have delish French inspired platters AND is kid friendly SO I was fortunate enough to have a bunch of my awesome students and their families come along and see me play.

Now being that it was my first proper solo gig where I was singing and playing, with no body to lean on but myself, I was already a little exposed and feeling a little vulnerable but oh boy! Add on top of that the reality of ‘leading by example’ and actually singing and playing in front of my students … eeek talk about being a nervous-wreck! Thankfully, all the crazy stuff that was going on inside my head didn’t come out in my hands or my voice – or so my students report =p I think the idea of leading by example is completely logical in my head, however the reality of it was certainly not what I was expecting; it’s much scarier and very sobering to know that my example as a performer (and as a human) was in a way, paving the road for my students … eeek! I hope they didn’t hear all my mistakes =p

Despite all of my crazy thoughts, I do want to say a big huge THANK YOU to Thomas, Vincent and all the staff at Frenchies for having me. A big shout out to the kitchen staff who I caught singing along to the tunes and dancing around the kitchen as they prepped the platters and meals coming out. Thank you also to all my beautiful students and their families who came out in support of me and my music.

Mission: The Vine and Branches Campsite

A few weekends ago (before the rains came!) I had the wonderful privilege of spending a cloudless late- spring afternoon floating along the pristine Port Hacking River (I love the perks of my job!) Boarding one of Cronulla Ferries finest vessels “Gunnamatta” we cruised around the bay and whilst I played some tunes and drank in the view, guests raised money for the building of “The Vine and Branches” Campsite in the Philippians. It was a win win! Here are some pics from the day!

The building of “The Vine and Branches” campsite project is supported by the Fellowship of Congregatonal Churches and is spearheaded by Pastor Cameron Douglas of Jannali Congregational Church in hopes to raise $60,000 to develop a piece of land into a campsite for a sister church in Tagaytay, Philippians.
